Courtlin D. Fields is an award-winning SAG-AFTRA filmmaker, author, and decorated military veteran. However, his work transcends these individual titles. Fields is a Cultural Curator—a visionary dedicated to dismantling traditional social boundaries to architect ‘Protected Atmospheres’ of equality and creative excellence. Through his firm, COURTYAYA Inc., and his non-profit, Found Purpose Inc., Fields initiates movements that challenge the norm.”


The Foundation of Resilience

Fields was raised in the Brownsville projects of Brooklyn, New York. He dedicated over two decades of his life to military service in the United States Air Force, beginning in the Reserve before transitioning to active duty. His extensive career in the armed forces, combined with profound personal experiences, would later become the thematic foundation for his work in literature, film, and advocacy. As of 2025, he resides in Miami, Florida.

Literary Career

As an author, Fields is best known for his five-part poetic memoir series. His debut, Hating to Love My Life: The Fighter in Me Would Not Let Me Die, achieved international recognition and is notably distributed in the United Kingdom by the prestigious bookseller Foyles. The second installment, Learning To Love My Life: GOD Had to Break Me to Heal Me, continued to build on his growing reputation.
